Bryson DeChambeau ‘videobombed’ Brooks Koepka at US Open amid bitter row

From x-rated arguments to passionate hugs, golf stars Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka have shared an interesting history.

One of the sport's most tempestuous feuds was seemingly buried at the Ryder Cup last September, after the pair helped Team USA romp to a resounding win against Team Europe at Wisconsin. During raucous celebrations, the two rivals hugged it out while teammates cheered in approval.

But just three months before that, relations were anything but friendly. Much of the build-up to the US Open had been dominated by the two players openly slandering each other.

Things had come to a head just months earlier at the US PGA, with Koepka complaining about his compatriot's 'bulls**t', after DeChambeau deliberately walked behind him during a TV interview. It sparked a social media war between the two, as they traded insults in Twitter.

But it didn't deter 'The Mad Scientists' from trying to unsettle his rival again at Torrey Pines, deliberately photobombing Koepka on the opening day of the tournament. However, this time, his actions were viewed as more comical than cynical.

“Heck, yeah, absolutely,” DeChambeau told reporters, when asked if he was being humorous: “Again, it’s one of those things people are thinking I was doing something, I wasn’t doing anything at the PGA Championship. I saw an opportunity and I just had fun with it.”

Will Bryson DeChambeau be joined by Brooks Koepka on the Saudi-backed tour? Let us know in the comments section.

The two stars are both in the field for the US Open this time around, which gets underway on Thursday. And this time DeChambeau, 28, is in the spotlight for very different reasons.

The big-hitter is under fire after confirming he would be playing the second LIV Golf Invitational tournament in Oregon later this month. He's reportedly signed a deal worth over $100m to join the Saudi-backed tour, which has Greg Norman as CEO.

DeChambeau has called the move "a business decision for my family's future, and it gave me a lot of free time, so it cleared a lot things up for me." Despite frenzied rumours, Koepka, 32, is yet to confirm whether or not he'll be jumping ship.
