Paige Spiranac tests her FIFA ratings without a shirt to celebrate World Cup

The 2022 World Cup has captivated a global audience, and Instagram model Paige Spiranac is no exception to the hype.

Following the tournament's kick-off in Qatar on Sunday, the golf instructor has taken her own crack at discovering how she'd fare on FIFA. And the results are certain to grab fans' attention—though perhaps not for her displays of skill on the pitch.

Spiranac is accustomed to impressing her 3.7million Instagram followers on grass, though that's usually with a wood or iron in tow. After impressing as a college golf star, Spiranac made a short-lived attempt at going pro before becoming a social media sensation.

The 29-year-old has teamed up with bookmaker PointsBet as a 2022 World Cup ambassador, discussing topics like gender inequality and the United States' "boring" kit during the build-up. Many supporters will have been glad to see Spiranac take a more 'hands-on' approach in her latest upload, however.

Trading her golf cleats for a pair of trainers, the former LPGA hopeful sought to discover her power, pace and shooting attributes. Her test comprised mostly of a series of penalties, along with a short sprint to gauge her speed.

Spiranac's toe-poking penalty technique left a lot to be desired, to say the least, likely leading to many a raised eyebrow at her 84 shooting stat. A power ranking of 58 seemed more accurate given most attempts trickled towards goal.

Dribbling and pace ratings of 95 and 99, respectively, helped the blonde beauty land an overall card score of 81. Spiranac's skillset saw her attributed as a right winger, though one wouldn't imagine she'll threaten for a place in the U.S. squad anytime soon.

Not everyone agreed with that assessment, however, as one Instagram user joked Spiranac "should’ve been in the [United States] squad instead of [Christian] Pulisic."

Others couldn't help but laugh at her 38 rating for defence—even though that's higher than both Lionel Messi (34) and Kylian Mbappe's (36) base-card equivalents on FIFA 23.

The only way is up for Colorado native Spiranac in her football journey based on what we've seen so far of her on-field performance.

That being said, her talents on the fairways mean she may be wiser sticking to golf.
