A furious Jake Paul has claimed Amanda Serrano was "robbed" in her split-decision defeat to Katie Taylor.
Serrano went agonisingly close to ending the undefeated record of Irishwoman Taylor in an instant classic at Madison Square Garden. But she came up just short on the judges' scorecards, which read 93-96, 93-97 and 96-94, after the fight went the distance.
Her promoter Paul felt she had done enough to win what had been billed as the biggest women's boxing match in history, simply tweeting post-fight: "Robbed." The YouTuber-turned-boxer later posted a screenshot which read 'Serrano landed 173 shots to 147 for Taylor'.
He captioned the image: "Amanda Serrano out landed Katie Taylor in landed punches both to the body and head. Men lie. Women lie. Numbers don’t."
Serrano was more gracious in defeat than Paul. She told DAZN: "We put on a hell of a show. Katie is a great champion. She's undefeated and undisputed. I'm truly honoured to share the ring. Women can sell, women can fight and women can put on a hell of a show."

A rematch looks to be a formality with both fighters declaring their interest in running it back. Journalist Ariel Helwani reported Madison Square Garden have offered Matchroom chief Eddie Hearn the option of hosting again.
However, Taylor said she wants to take it back to her home country at Croke Park in Dublin, a condition which Paul said they have "no problem" with.
He added: "It was a draw at best. We thought we won. We thought Amanda won. Amanda performed amazing. But that was fight of a lifetime.
"That was Arturo Gatti v Mickey Ward. That was incredible. Both women fought their hearts out. It was a historic moment. The crowds booing but everyone's a winner here tonight. I'd be mad if I was them too.
"Credit to Katie Taylor for what she's done for women's boxing. Credit to Amanda Serrano. You give to give credit where credit's due. And let's run it back. Like Eddie said. September or October. This fight, this second fight just got a whole lot bigger."
