Chris Weidman left nothing to the imagination after he showed off the extent of the gruesome injury he suffered during his fight against Uriah Hall at UFC 261 last weekend.
The American crumpled to the floor just 17 seconds into Saturday’s fight after he aimed a kick at his opponent which resulted in the 36-year-old suffering severely broken leg.
After collapsing in pain, Weidman was escorted out of the arena in Florida on a stretcher, before he underwent successful surgery on Monday.
The procedure saw a titanium rod inserted through his tibia and Weidman was all too happy to share the before and after x-rays on Twitter with his near half a million following.
Speaking on Monday meanwhile, the former middleweight champion’s wife, Marivi, revealed she was left heartbroken by the events of last weekend but confirmed surgery had been a success.
She wrote on Instagram: ‘Well that was horrible!
‘Freak things happen in life and plans get crushed. It’s been a lonnnggg day but so happy to finally see this man of mine post surgery. Everything went well thank you Lord!
‘My heart breaks for my husband because I know the work and dedication that he puts into his training everyday and the great man that he is, so I only want the best for him.
‘While this absolutely sucks in the moment and for some weeks to come, we are completely overwhelmed by the love and support we have far and wide and are very aware how blessed we are. All of that overpowers the awfulness of this situation.’
