Ebanie Bridges mocks next opponent after calling Blonde Bomber ‘skanky stripper’

Ebanie Bridges has hit back at her next opponent Shannon O'Connell after she called her a "skanky stripper".

Bridges' first defence of her IBF bantamweight title was announced last week, with the Blonde Bomber set to take on her compatriot and 'The Queen of Australian Boxing' O'Connell. There's certainly no love lost between the pair despite their Aussie connection.

The fighting talk got underway back in July when O'Connell slammed Bridges' routine of stripping down to her lingerie for her pre-fight weigh-ins. "I don't know that I'd call her a beauty queen, more of a skanky stripper or something, I don't know," she told Ringside Reporter Live.

Responding to the comment, Bridges took to Twitter today (September 21) and wrote: "Apparently I’m just a skanky stripper cos I take my clothes off at weigh ins, like everyone has to…even her.

"Maybe my bae @will_parfitt_ should become a boxer if stripping is all you gotta do. Would love to know where else I strip off and I’m sure half my fans would too. Let us no plz."

Will the Blonde Bomber see off the challenge of O'Connell? Let us know in the comments section.

Bridges then added a video of O'Connell being knocked out in her last loss to Nigerian Helen Joseph in July 2017, as well as footage of her previous defeat to Marcela Eliana Acuna, with the caption: "And apparently she’s a sweet scientist… imma just leave these here…"

A date and venue haven't even been announced for the fight yet but it seems the pair are ready to go at it now. The bout will be held at some point later this year.

Matchroom, whom Bridges is signed with, won the purse bid for her first defence of the belt she won from Maria Cecilia Roman back in May in her ninth professional fight .

O'Connell, in contrast, is a veteran of the women's boxing scene, having held the WBF featherweight world title in 2013 and a professional record of 23-6-1. What's more, she's won all of her last eight outings.
