Fury tells fans to vote for me after revealing plans to run for PM in 2030

Tyson Fury has told all of his fans to vote for him when he runs for Prime Minister in 2030.

The heavyweight champion has revealed plans to make a move for Downing Street after opening his own restaurant in Lancaster this week. After retiring from boxing following his knockout win over Dillian Whyte, many have pondered over what Fury's next move would be.

But it would have been low down on the list of many people's ideas that the Gypsy King would take up politics. But with the current leadership of the country up in the air – hey, why not?

Boris Johnson resigned earlier this month as Prime Minister with Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss now sparring for the position as top dog. While a decision is close on who will succeed BoJo, Fury has his sights on the position one day.

"I want to say thank you to everyone who turned up today," he said at the grand opening of the Sultan of Lancaster Experience restaurant. "Don't forget to vote for me in 2030 as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom – vote Fury. [Sultan's] is now officially open to everybody."

While Fury might have hung up the gloves, there has been talk of a return to the ring in the close future. The Wythenshawe-born star has flirted with the idea of facing Anthony Joshua in the ring, as well as Oleksandr Usyk.

The two fighters will take on one another in a rematch after the Ukrainian sprung a surprise win over AJ in September last year. They will fight in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on August 20.

Fury has also confirmed that he is in talks with former World's Strongest Man Hafthor Bjornsson, who also played as The Mountain on Games of Thrones, to fight in an exhibition clash. Former UFC star Francis Ngannou is also in his sights in a similar bout.
