Jake Paul shares Mayweather talks and insists he would "take out" boxing legend

YouTube star Jake Paul revealed he has attempted to arrange a fight with retired boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, and insisted he would be able to ‘take out’ the 15-time major world champion.

Mayweather is no stranger to the Paul family, having fought Jake’s brother Logan in an exhibition match earlier this year, but he was unable to beat the notorious vlogger as the bout ended without an official winner.

Now it seems the 44-year-old has received another challenge from the Paul brothers, who rose to fame after becoming YouTube sensations.

Paul caused all sorts of controversies with Mayweather ahead of his brother’s fight in June, after stealing the boxing great’s cap following an altercation at a media event to promote the exhibition bout this summer.

After their meet up outside of the ring, the 24-year-old now fancies his chances against the boxing legend in his natural habitat, but feels Mayweather’s best bet would be to stay away from the fight and remain in retirement.

He said: “I don’t do exhibitions. I told Floyd, I actually messaged him and I said ‘Yo, if you want to do a real pro fight at a weight class, then let’s do it.’

Will Floyd Mayweather take on Jake Paul? Let us know in the comments sectio n below.

“But I think he’s going to retire and that’s probably what’s best for him because my brother is a great fighter, but I’m just built different. I would have taken Floyd out and that wouldn’t be good for him."

Mayweather has offered the younger Paul brother a professional fight, however insisted that the YouTuber must drop to 147lbs in order to do so meaning Paul would have to lose a remarkable three stone in weight.

The 24-year-old has also had his eye on facing UFC star Conor McGregor, who took on Mayweather in 2017 in the American’s final fight as a professional boxer.

The Irish mix martial artist is currently out of action after breaking his leg in a defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July, but the American vlogger has insisted McGregor needs to get himself back into the ring.

He added: “If Conor was my client I would say stop drinking you Irish idiot. Put the bottle down, put the bottle down and get some Ws! And those fake teeth are ugly as f***.”

Despite Paul’s wishes, McGregor has since played down any chance of facing off with the 24-year-old.
