Thor Bjornsson says Eddie Hall "talks s**t" in pointed dig after rival’s jibe

Hafthor Bjornsson has brushed off rival Eddie Hall's criticism after a powerful victory over Devon Larratt in his boxing debut.

The former World's Strongest Man champion was aggressive from the off and made the most of his sizeable height and weight advantage to force a first round stoppage in Dubai.

Larratt, a legend in the arm wrestling world, had stepped in to take part in the exhibition bout with five weeks' notice to replace the man Bjornsson was supposed to fight, Eddie Hall.

The pair have had a rivalry since their days competing against each other in strongman competition, and had a date set to meet in the boxing ring on September 18.

But a bicep injury forced the Staffordshire giant to pull out of the contest, which has been postponed until next year.

Hall clearly wasn't impressed by his Icelandic rival's performance in the ring, as he posted sarcastically on Facebook: "Well done to Thor for beating an old man up with five weeks' training."

Speaking to the Star, Bjornsson said he wasn't surprised that Hall had taken a cheap shot at him.

"A friend of mine showed me that. He likes to talk s**t behind the camera – that's what he does best," he said.

"It doesn't really surprise me.

"Someone told me as well that Eddie thought Devon would knock me out. So first he thought Devon was going to beat me, and now because I've won he's going to talk some other crap.

Will Hafthor Bjornsson or Eddie Hall win their eventual boxing fight? Let us know in the comments section.

"This is just typical Eddie. He likes to talk s**t. He'll talk s**t even after I beat him – he'll never stop."

While it was largely healthy at first, the feud between Bjornsson and Hall has become bitter in recent times.

Thor has lost a huge amount of weight and toned up to the point where he is in the shape of his life, all motivated by his desire to beat his nemesis in the ring.

And, after the fight is over, he wants that to be the end of all the acrimony between them.

"[To knock him out] means everything to me," Bjornsson, a Reign Total Body Fuel ambassador, said.

"He's talking so much crap for the last how many years? He's shown disrespect towards my team, my family – I've had enough of that guy.

"I just want to end this in the ring and just move on. Hopefully he can forget about me, stop mentioning my name, stop talking about me and just move on."

While no date has yet been set in stone, Thor confirmed that March 2022 has been proposed for his rescheduled bout with Hall.

Hafthor Bjornsson is a Reign ambassador, he will fight Eddie Hall in March 2022.
