Tommy Fury was harassed by a fan who branded him a "p****" after he was forced to pull out of fighting Jake Paul.
The undefeated boxer, who shot to fame in 2019 as a finalist on ITV reality show Love Island, was out shopping when someone approached him to call him a rude name after the bout was cancelled.
Fury was supposed to fight Paul at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida last weekend, but his doctors pulled him from the event when he broke his ribs while battling a chest infection two weeks out from fight night.
And he has had to suffer a myriad of abusive posts on social media, as well as one incident in person at a shop with a fight fan.
"Going on social media, every message is terrible," Fury told the Queensberry Promotions YouTube channel.
"Going out in public, I went to the corner shop for water to fill the fridge up, 'Oh you p****.' That's what I've had, some of the public can be so fickle."
Fury has amassed a 7-0 record as a professional boxer and has been going back-and-forth with Paul for the past year, including a physical altercation after they shared a fight card in August.
And he has promised to stop Paul if they do eventually fight, after saying he was unimpressed with the YouTube star's performance before he viciously knocked out Woodley in the sixth round.
"He looked better in his last fight against Woodley," Fury explained. "This fight he didn't do anything.
"When we watched that fight, the first five rounds were a hugging affair, he didn't do anything at all or show me anything.
"He doesn't move his head, I've said this all along and it goes for myself, the only way you get better as a fighter and a boxer is the amount of ring time you have.
"I've trained all my life in the gym, but training in the gym and fighting are two different things and he's got to learn that and he is learning that.
"He can't just go in training, have a million spars and think he's going to be a world champion, you only get better by fighting.

"And he's had five fights, that's just it."
Paul spent a solid portion of the build-up to and aftermath of the Woodley rematch mocking Fury for pulling out of the bout, even donning an outfit with a Union Jack and a special message for his ring walk.
And Fury was unsurprised by the YouTube star's antics, noting that he is a known "prankster".
"It's to be expected," Fury said of Paul's fight week jibes. "Because he's a prankster.
"He's a showman isn't he? I expected all that but I didn't think anything of it at all, nothing at all.
"There's nothing in that man that I think of, I don't study Jake Paul, I'm not interested in him and the only thing I want to hear about is the fight being rescheduled."
