Tyron Woodley ‘announces’ third Jake Paul fight after Hasim Rahman Jr pulls out

Trilogy fights are seriously epic, aren't they? Muhammad Ali vs Joe Frazier, Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder … Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley?

After cancelling yet another fight over the weekend, YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul is once again in need of an opponent and Woodley appears to have thrown his hat into the ring (sounds very familiar, doesn't it?).

The American former MMA star fought Paul after taking Tommy Fury's place when the Englishman picked up an injury days before their highly-anticipated fight back in December – having initially faced The Problem Child four months prior.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Woodley posted a graphic of himself and Paul, along with the caption: "Paul vs Woodley III", claiming it was "breaking news" – though no such match has officially been confirmed.

Paul was initially scheduled to face Fury at Madison Square Garden on Saturday but the match was scrapped after Fury was refused entry to the US. Hasim Rahman Jr then stepped in as replacement, but couldn't cut down his weight to meet the 200lb limit, and the bout was cancelled again.

"First Tommy Fury fumbled and now Hasim Rahman crumbled," Paul wrote on Twitter, though Rahman Jr responded on by tweeting: "Jake and his "team" cancelled this fight, not me! The fight isn't happening on there accord not MINE!"

Having not fought for nearly eight months now, Paul will be keen to line-up another opponent to keep his momentum going, with rumours of potential clashes with UFC legends Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz in the pipelines.

Paul has won all five of his professional fights since first strapping on a pair of gloves back in 2020, though he's been criticised for never having faced a legitimate boxer.
