Tyson Fury romped to a stunning triumph over Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas – and then belted out a victory song inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
The British boxer produced a stunning performance of patience and power to stop Wilder in seven rounds to finally win the WBC heavyweight title.
And, ever the showman, Fury was keen to make the most of being back in the limelight once again.
After fulfilling his post-fight interview commitments, Fury kept hold of the microphone and serenaded his fans with a version of Don McLean's famous hit American Pie.
Indeed, Fury downed American Wilder with a seven-round victory that sees the Mancunian claim the heavyweight title.
Fourteen months on from his controversial draw with Wilder – when he outboxed the champion only for two knockdowns to deny him the famous green belt – Fury had vowed to take the fight to the American.
He did just that, flooring the champion twice and completely dominating the action before referee Kenny Bayless stepped in to save the despairing, bewildered Wilder from more punishment.
After the win, Fury said: “I want to shout out Deontay Wilder, he showed the heart of a champion. He got up and battled onto round seven. He is a warrior, he will be back and be champion again.
