Dustin Johnson has hinted his back injury earlier this year came after a bedroom incident with his wife Paulina Gretzky.
Speaking ahead of this week’s US PGA Championship, LIV golfer Johnson was asked how he hurt his back.
‘I just pulled a muscle,’ he said, shifting suspiciously on the spot as he answered. ‘Lower back.’
The reporter followed up by asking: ‘Swinging a club? Lifting up a club’ and a big smile appeared on Johnson’s face.
‘No,’ he said, awkwardly tilting his head from one side to another. ‘Lifting up a kid… a bigger kid’ as the press room broke out into laughter.
‘I’m done!’ the reporter said back to him.

In 2017, Johnson missed The Masters again after falling down the stairs at a home he was renting in Augusta – forcing him to withdraw from the tournament.

These two are leading away for the breakaway tour in the race to be the first from LIV to win a major championship. Koepka and Phil Mickelson came close at Augusta, finishing second in the field and four shots behind winner Jon Rahm.
