Rory McIlroy is widely recognised as one of the best golfers in the world. He burst onto the scene back in 2007 and has since gone on to win 28 tournaments, including four majors.
McIlroy won his first major at the US Open in 2011 before winning the PGA Championship twice – in 2012 and 2014.
He also won the Open Championship in 2014 but the one that has so far eluded him is the Masters.
His best finish at Augusta National came in 2015, where he tied for fifth.
For McIlroy, winning the famous green jacket would see him complete the career grand slam and join an exclusive group of players.
Only five players have ever achieved the feat as McIlory looks to put his name alongside Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Ben Horgan, Gary Player and Gene Sarazen.
And while the Northern Irishman appears confident of one day winning the Masters, he is aware that nothing is guaranteed in golf.
“There are a lot of great people that have played this game that have never won a Green Jacket,” the 31-year-old said.
“It’s not a foregone conclusion, and I know that. I have to go out and earn it.
“I think nowadays, with how many great players there are, I need to play my best golf to have a chance.
“Nothing’s given in this game.”
