Clemson will be without starting defensive tackle Tyler Davis for its top-five battle with Georgia on Saturday night.
The former freshman All-American missed significant time last season, but was expected to play a key role on the Tigers’ defensive line in 2021. No reason was given for his absence.
The 6-2, 300-pound Davis played in seven games last season, recording two sacks and five tackles for loss.
As a freshman, Davis played a key role in getting Clemson to the national title game, with 6.5 sacks and 10 tackles for loss.
Tre Williams and Darnell Jefferies are expected to fill in for Davis against the Bulldogs.
Clemson will also be without wide receiver Brannon Spector and offensive lineman Mason Trotter, the school announced.
