Chicago’s offense got dealt a potentially big blow in the second half of its Week 4 game against Detroit.
Running back David Montgomery was ruled out for the rest of the contest with a knee injury.
Montgomery got hurt in the fourth quarter and headed to the locker room.
Prior to leaving the game, Montgomery had 106 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries.
Montgomery was replaced in the game by former Chiefs running back Damien Williams, who took on the bulk of the rushing duties from there.
Williams had 55 yards and a touchdown of his own on just eight carries.
If Montgomery’s injury sidelines him for a significant amount of time, it’s likely Williams will get most of the carries along with Tarik Cohen when he returns from the PUP list.
Entering Sunday’s game, Montgomery had 203 yards and one touchdown on 46 carries.
