The Miami Dolphins picked Jaylen Waddle with the No. 6 overall pick in the NFL draft, reuniting the wide receiver with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, his former Alabama teammate.
Waddle had 48 receptions for 591 yards and four touchdowns last season. He fractured his ankle during the opening kickoff against Tennessee in a game last October but returned for the BCS national championship game, catching three passes for 34 yards in the Crimson Tide’s 52-24 victory over Ohio State.
Waddle said on the ESPN broadcast being selected was “a dream come true.”
He said he can’t wait to show off his playmaking ability for Dolphins fans.
“That’s a huge reason why they drafted me to help out and try to make plays so I’m just gonna do my best to try to showcase that,” he said.
