Tom Brady free agency rumors: Buccaneers ‘expected landing spot’ after QB leaves Patriots

Tom Brady appears on the verge of taking his talents to Tampa after announcing Tuesday morning that he would no longer play for the Patriots.

The 42-year-old quarterback is looking at a contract with an average annual value of $30 million, according to, and multiple reports indicate it’s only a matter of time before a deal is agreed upon.

If Brady indeed signs with the Buccaneers, he would be greeted by one of the most talented receiving groups he’s ever been able to work with. Tampa Bay already boasts Pro Bowl wideouts Mike Evans and┬áChris Godwin, and the team is reportedly eyeing a receiver in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Brady was nowhere near his peak form last season, but he was still above average, throwing for 24 touchdowns to just eight interceptions. His six Super Bowl rings and vast postseason experience are a primary reason for Tampa Bay’s interest; the Buccaneers haven’t reached the playoffs since 2007.

Tampa Bay also re-signed pass rushers Jason Pierre-Paul and Shaq Lawson this week.
