We are AWAY in the first GF
This is going to be brutal through the middle. Brisbane make it through their first set and the Roosters now reply from their half.
The players have taken the field…
Rain still falling in Sydney and it looks as if that's only going to increase for the main game. Interesting to see how the surface holds up here as the Broncos take the field behind their captain Ali Brigginshaw. She's the Dally M women's player of the year and will have a huge say in today's proceedings.
The Roosters have never beaten the Broncos…
And will have to try and deny Brisbane a third premiership without their star rugby recruit Charlotte Caslick, who suffered some small fractures in her lumbar spine and is out of action. Not so for star Brisbane fullback Tamika Upton, who has been in top form again and will be a huge threat to the Roosters all afternoon. Very keen to see Hannah Southwell return for the Roosters, she can put on some big shots and potentially force a crucial error.
Welcome to the Grand Final coverage… LIVE ALL DAY
Good afternoon folks and welcome to the Sydney Morning Herald's coverage of grand final day. We are going to be live until fulltime in the men's decider but we start with what should be a very willing NRLW grand final between the Broncos and the Roosters.
That's up soon at a wet ANZ Stadium, Brisbane chasing another NRLW crown, before the Panthers and Storm get it on a little later. We thank you for your company and hope your team gets up, should they be lucky enough to be up and about.
