5 possible transfer moves for Marcus Rashford if Erik ten Hag doesn’t want star

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford could leave the club this summer if new manager Erik ten Hag decides he is not a part of his plans.

The 24-year-old has had the worst season of his career in terms of goal contributions, with just five goals and two assists in 32 appearances across all competitions. As a result, Rashford has been strongly linked with a move during the next transfer window and United have reportedly slashed their asking price off the back of his poor form.

With that in mind, here are five possible transfer moves for Rashford if Ten Hag does not want to keep him.

Arsenal have been the most strongly linked suitors for Rashford since reports first broke suggesting he may leave Old Trafford at the end of the season.

The Gunners were said to be plotting a move for the England winger provided they qualified for next season's Champions League ahead of United.

With four matches remaining of the season, Arsenal are two points clear of Tottenham Hotspur in fourth place and are understood to have set £45million aside to sign Rashford when the window opens.

Paris Saint-Germain

French giants Paris Saint-Germain have been long-term admirers of Rashford following his rise into the United first team since scoring on his debut aged 18.

With Kylian Mbappe's future up in the air due to his contract running down and Lionel Messi and Neymar not getting any younger, the arrival of Rashford would represent the chance to rejuvenate PSG's frontline.

Despite winning the Ligue 1 title with ease this season, PSG again faltered in the Champions League and signings are expected this summer, presenting the opportunity of an escape route for Rashford.

Newcastle United

Newcastle United have transformed their season under Eddie Howe, moving clear of the relegation battle to approach the end of the season comfortably in mid-table.

The club spent big in January following their Saudi-led takeover in October and are again expected to splash the cash in the summer as they look to deliver on their promise of European football.

A player of Rashford's star quality would likely be a target for the Magpies and their new mega rich status would allow the winger to avoid having to take a pay cut to join.

Following the news earlier this season that Rashford was considering his United future due to his lack of minutes and inconsistent form, a number of clubs reportedly contacted him with regards to a move.

Amongst those were Spanish side Barcelona, who themselves are in a period of transition following the departure of Messi and their financial issues.

With loanee Adama Traore reportedly not making his move permanent, a winger is set to be on Xavi's shopping list this season, with Rashford understood to be a target for the Blaugrana.

West Ham United

Rashford is not the first product of the United academy to fall down the pecking order after early success upon breaking into the first team.

Friend and team-mate Jesse Lingard found himself struggling for game time last season before a successful loan spell at West Ham United re-energised his career and earned him an England recall.

With the Hammers set to qualify for Europe once again this season, a move to the London Stadium in the summer could present the perfect option for Rashford to kickstart his career again.
