Aaron Ramsdale branded "top tier rattler" after reaction to goal seen on camera

Aaron Ramsdale has been called a ‘top tier rattler’ after he was caught on camera waving at Chelsea fans after Arsenal’s fourth goal.

Footage shows the Gunners goalkeeper, 23, giving the Blues support behind his goal at Stamford Bridge a cheeky wave when Bukayo Saka converted his penalty. And the shot-stopper's antics during his side’s 4-2 win had supporters gushing online.

One wrote: “Top tier rattler lol.” While a second claimed the England international had Chelsea fans 'twitching': “Love it. Ramsdale making them twitch.”

Another said: “He took time and did it courteously. That's my boy.” And a fourth rejoiced: “Love this savage side of Ramsdale.”

Another added: “You can imagine the abuse he received the whole match. I love Ramsdale.”

Arsenal put in one of their best performances of the season to earn three points against the reigning European champions. Gunners’ former academy players got in on the goal action with Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe and Saka putting four past the Blues.

Andreas Christensen’s weak pass set through Nketiah to slot the ball past Edouard Mendy for Arsenal’s first. Timo Werner’s long-range effort took a heavy deflection and it evaded Ramsdale to level the score.

Smith Rowe put the Gunners 2-1 up once more, only for Cesar Azpilicueta to equalise going into the break. In the second half, Arsenal found a further two goals – Nketiah with a poacher’s effort and Saka’s penalty – to secure the win for Mikel Arteta ’s men.

Nketiah, 22, a former Chelsea youth player, said after the London derby: "It makes it that bit more special. I was here until U14s and got let go and you always have that chip on your shoulder to come and prove yourself.

"Today it was good I got two goals but it's not about me it's about the team bouncing back and getting the three points. "

The win puts Arsenal fifth in the Premier League table and level on points with close rivals Tottenham, who are on 57 points and in fourth position.
