Antonio Conte should attempt to take Romelu Lukaku with him to Tottenham if he cannot convince Harry Kane to stay, according to former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara. Conte is reportedly in talks with Totteham over becoming the club’s permanent successor to Jose Mourinho. The Italian resigned from his role as Inter Milan boss last week after falling out with the club’s owners.
Tottenham have been on the search for a full-time manager since Mourinho was sacked in mid-April.
Ryan Mason took up the reins on an interim basis for the remainder of the season but will resume his role with the youth side.
Spurs face the tough task of keeping hold of talismanic striker Kane, who has made it clear he wants to leave in search of silverware.
Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are all interested in the England captain.

If Kane were to leave, O’Hara would like to see Conte bring in Lukaku as a replacement.
Lukaku has had an exceptional two seasons under Conte at Inter Milan.
Asked if Lukaku could replace Kane, O’Hara told Sky Sports News: “Absolutely. In my opinion Lukaku is world class.
“A world-class striker, I think he was underappreciated at Manchester United.

“He didn’t perform unbelievably well there but at Everton he was awesome, at Inter Milan this season he’s been one of the best strikers in the world.
“He hasn’t got as much to his game in terms of I think Harry Kane is the complete forward.
“But Lukaku is something special and the way Antonio Conte plays, he plays another striker up with him, he plays this 3-5-2 formation.
“Try and keep Harry Kane and get Lukaku as well, play them both!”
Kane also thinks there is a chance Conte could persuade Kane to stay at Spurs.
He added: “I’d even go as far to say I potentially think he can convince Harry Kane to stay. Absolutely. I genuinely think he could.
“If there was one manager on this planet that Spurs could get that could convince him to stay, I think it is Antonio Conte.
“He’s won it all, he’s won the Premier League, he’s won Serie A, I love the way he plays, Harry Kane will love the way he plays.
“I enjoyed watching them at Inter Milan this season, I really did.
“That shows real ambition from the club if you can get [Conte] over the line. I would give him whatever he wants.”
