Arsenal are interested in signing Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele, according to reports. Dembele is out of contract at Barcelona in 2022 and was heavily linked with a move away from the Nou Camp this summer. Manchester United were keen on signing the France international as an alternative to Jadon Sancho.
But Dembele refused to leave Barca, even on a loan deal, as he keeps his future options open.
Barca want to extend the 23-year-old’s contract to protect his value and get as much as they can for him when they do eventually sell.
But Dembele is not interested in discussing a new deal with the La Liga club.
Ansu Fati’s knee injury, which is set to keep him out for four months, could give Dembele more game time at Barca.

That would mean a January exit is unlikely for the former Borussia Dortmund star.
But Spanish outlet Sport say there is still interest in Dembele from United, as well as Arsenal.

The report claims Dembele may see out his Barca contract and leave for free in 18 months’ time, or Barca could accept a smaller fee next summer.
United’s continued interest is not a surprise after they failed to pay what Dortmund wanted for Sancho in the summer.

But Arsenal being keen on the player is more interesting.
Reports in the summer claimed captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang “dreams” of playing alongside Dembele at Arsenal.
Aubameyang and Dembele became close friends during the season they spent together at Dortmund.
French outlet Le 10 Sport said in August that Aubameyang wanted to see the club invest in the market before he signed a new contract.
Aubameyang finally penned an extension in September and the Gunners finished the window by completing the £45million capture of Thomas Partey.
But Arsenal have struggled creatively in the first few months of the season and Dembele could help towards solving that problem.
Even if it is not a deal that can be done in January, Dembele only turns 24 next May so is yet to hit his prime.
United would likely be able to offer Dembele a better financial offer if they maintain their interest in the player.
But the lure of Aubameyang could be enough to persuade the winger to join the Gunners instead.
