Arsenal and Liverpool will be among the clubs cheering on Brazil and England at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar amid the prospect of a healthy financial boost over the next six weeks. Both Premier League giants could be over £1million better off by the end of the tournament if the two nations reach the December 18 final.
Brazil and England are among the favourites to lift the illustrious trophy in Qatar and could face off in the final at the 80,000-capacity Lusail Stadium one week before Christmas. And despite club football returning with the Carabao Cup last 16 just a few days after the showdown, Liverpool will likely join Arsenal in hoping their representatives appear.
Alisson, Fabinho, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus are included in the Brazil squad, while Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jordan Henderson, Bukayo Saka, Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale are within England’s ranks. All nine stars could raise an accumulative £2.79m if Brazil vs England is the 2022 World Cup final.
FIFA hand clubs £8,415 a day per player for the duration of their nation’s run in the tournament, regardless of whether they play or not. It means Arsenal and Liverpool would receive £310,000 for each of their players in the final – £1.55m for the Gunners and £1.24m for the Reds.

But even if Liverpool’s owners welcome the influx of Christmas cash, Jurgen Klopp may desire the opposite, considering he must take his side to face Manchester City just days after the World Cup final. With Liverpool likely out of the title race, more emphasis has been put on the importance of the Carabao Cup for silverware this term.
Arsenal won’t have to worry about the same after being dumped out of the third round, losing 3-1 against Brighton and Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium.

Brazil are the outright favourites to win a record-extending sixth World Cup crown this winter. But England made a dream start to their campaign, romping to victory against Iran at the Khalifa International Stadium on Monday.
Neither Alexander-Arnold nor Henderson featured, but both will expect to play some part in at least the group stage after being named in Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad. England next face the USA on Friday, November 25, before their clash against Wales on Tuesday, November 29.
