Arsenal confirmed the signing of Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid on Friday morning following a successful loan spell at the club.
The 22-year-old initially joined the Gunners in January, making 20 appearances for Mikel Arteta's side during his four-month loan spell.
But after catching the eye of the manager, as well as Technical Director Edu Gaspar, Odegaard became their no.1 priority in the transfer window.
A £30million move takes their summer spending to over £100million and there still might be more deals left for the Gunners to complete.
Here's the latest from Daily Star Sport on Arsenal's transfer activity…
Gunners backed to sign James Maddison
Despite the recent acquisition of Martin Odegaard, Mikel Arteta has been 'backed' to sign Leicester City's James Maddison to add even more depth to his midfield.
Ex-Premier League goalkeeper David James is in favour of the Arsenal boss signing Maddison even after the arrival of Odegaard:
“There is a player with character,” said James speaking to Sky Sports News. “If I am not mistaken, James Maddison has said that he thinks he’s a ‘great player’.

“And rightly so because he is highly talented. He’s confident and you would think that’s the sort of winning mentality Arsenal need.
“If Maddison is part of that (in Leicester wanting to win the PL again) then you don’t see why he would want to move.
“But if Brendan Rodgers sees him, not necessarily the focal point of Leicester, then Arsenal would be a suitable move for him.”
Torreira wants out of Arsenal
Lucas Torreira is looking for an exit out of the Emirates this summer having failed to impress during his three-year stay in north London.
The Uruguayan also failed to grasp a loan opportunity at Atletico Madrid and is keen on a move back to Italy where he managed to impose himself with Sampdoria.
Italian publication Corriere della Sera claim, via sportwitness, that Torreira has "told the Gunners management that he would like to return to Italy."
The report goes on to say Lazio and Roma "are the teams that are looking at him with the formula of the loan with the right of redemption."
Belotti deal unlikely
Andrea Belotti has been a summer target for Mikel Arteta, according to Tuttosport, but a deal now looks increasingly unlikely as the Torino striker has been offered to Serie A title winners Inter Milan.
Following the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea, the Nerazzurri are desperate to bring in a forward to partner Lautaro Martinez.
Having gained £97 million from the transfer of Lukaku, Inter are also in a greater financial situation than the Gunners and can afford to meet Torino's €25 million valuation.
L'Interista report that Simone Inzaghi's side have been offered the chance to sign Belotti, putting them ahead of Arsenal in the race for the Italians signature.

Mikel Arteta already has four striking options of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun.
Any further forward additions would need to be met with at least one outgoing transfer.
