Arsenal ‘keen on January deal for wonderkid’ who bullied Celtic scoring worldie

Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Shakhtar Donetsk wonderkid Mykhaylo Mudryk who sunk Celtic's Champions League hopes with a stunning worldie.

The Bhoys' ill-fated European campaign ended after Mudryk's wonder goal that earned Shakhtar a 1-1 draw on Tuesday night. The 21-year-old lit up Celtic park with his impeccable finish in the second period.

Mudryk showed his blistering place when he went on a mazy solo run after receiving the ball just beyond the half-way line. He then fearlessly cut in from the left flank, deftly evading two Celtic defenders, before rolling the ball onto his right foot and driving it into the top corner outside the box – sending the away fans into a frenzy.

It was the striker's sixth goal in 11 games, and his attacking prowess has landed him on the radar of the Gunners who are desperate to reinforce their squad as they pursue the Premier League title.

It was claimed that Mikel Arteta will be handed a £50million war chest in January, and Mudryk's one of the names on the Spaniard's wishlist, along with Palmeiras star Danilo, according to The Sun.

And after Mudryk's heroics against Celtic, Arsenal fans pleaded with the Gunners to bring him to North London. One supporter begged on Twitter, under BT Sports showing of the goal: "Dear @Arsenal, we need this guy next season," alongside a praying hands emoji.

This sentiment was echoed by another user who added: "@Arsenal, sign him up boys." Arsenal's pursuit of Mudryk could receive a boost from his fellow Ukrainian Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Zinchenko moved to Arsenal from Man City in the summer, and has adapted to life in North London perfectly. The left-back has already found a local pub to watch games and was spotted celebrating wildly in the stands when the Gunners scored against Liverpool.
