Arsenal are keeping tabs on Noa Lang’s situation following reports that the Dutch winger is ready to take the next step in his career and seek an exit from Club Brugge in the New Year.

The Gunners, along with Italian giants AC Milan, have been linked with a move for the 22-year-old on several occasions over the past 12 months.

Although neither club has made a concrete proposal for the exciting attacker, that could all be set to change according to a new report.

Voetbal 24 claim that Lang has decided that he wants a major move in order to catapult himself into contention for the Netherlands national team ahead of next year’s World Cup.

Lang has already won two caps at senior level but is eager to do all he can to ensure he is on the plane to Qatar next winter.

It’s unlikely that Brugge will want to lose the dazzling forward, but it’s believed that they would sanction an exit for Lang if the price was right.

Lang has established himself as one of the hottest young prospects in Europe with his displays in Belgium over the past 12 months and was involved in almost 30 goals last year.

The left winger racked up 17 goals and 11 assists in just 37 games across all competitions as Brugge were crowned as the Belgian champions for the third time in four years.

Lang would certainly fit the current transfer strategy of investing in young players that has served Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu well.

No club in the Premier League spent more than the Gunners in the summer. But after a rocky start to the season, Arsenal’s six new signings have helped Arteta’s side get back into the race for a Champions League spot off the back of an eight-match unbeaten run.

Since taking charge, Arteta has placed an emphasis on allowing the club’s burgeoning young talent to shine, so a deal for Lang would fit the bill if the Emirates hierarchy are willing to sanction another spending splurge in the New Year.

The prospect of linking Lang up alongside the attacking talents of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang would certainly excite Arsenal fans – and provide Arteta with more than enough firepower to enable the Gunners to reclaim their top-four spot in the Premier League.

But they may have to act fast in January if they are handed the opportunity to strike a deal with Brugge.

AC Milan are unlikely to be the only side waiting in the wings to pounce for the fleet-footed forward given his stunning stats over the past year, with Liverpool another side who have been credited with an interest in Lang according to reports over the past few months.
