Aston Villa to make third Smith Rowe bid as Arsenal ace ‘blown away’ by interest

Aston Villa are preparing to launch a third bid to sign Emile Smith Rowe as Dean Smith's side refuse to give up their pursuit of the Arsenal midfielder.

Villa have already seen two offers worth £25million and £30million for the 20-year-old turned down by the Gunners but will revive their interest once again.

Smith Rowe impressed for Mikel Arteta's side last term during his breakthrough campaign, scoring four goals and registering seven assists in all competitions.

His current Arsenal deal is set to expire in the summer of 2023, though the north London side are currently in the process of trying to agree a new long-term contract for the youngster.

Despite the Gunners' hopes to keep Smith Rowe at the club, the Daily Mirror have reported that Villa are ready to table a third offer for the playmaker.

The West Midlands club are developing a reputation for handing opportunities to young English talents, having witnessed the development of Ollie Watkins, Matty Cash and Ezri Konsa.

Villa's continued efforts to secure the services of Smith Rowe have not gone unnoticed, particularly by the Arsenal academy graduate himself.

The Birmingham Mail claim the Croydon-born midfielder is ‘blown away’ by the level of Villa’s interest and is flattered that the club have made such an effort to sign him.

Should Smith Rowe move to Aston Villa or remain at Arsenal? Comment below.

Smith's side have already confirmed the arrival of Norwich City midfielder Emi Buendia for a club-record £33million – a fee that could well be beaten should a deal for Smith Rowe be agreed.

The future of Villa captain Jack Grealish could also dictate whether this move takes place or not, having been linked with a £100m move to Manchester City this summer.

His possible departure could enable Villa to offer a significant sum of money in their bid to recruit Arsenal's attacking talent.
