Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix flirts with Liverpool after Champions League win

Joao Felix admits he "shouldn't say" what he truly felt about the Anfield atmosphere after his Atletico Madrid side came back from the brink on Merseyside.

Liverpool , who needed to overturn a 1-0 first-leg deficit, dominated proceedings but were forced into extra-time.

Roberto Firmino's strike looked to have sent them through with Atletico offering little in attack all night.

But three swift goals turned the tie on its head, but even as Felix and his team-mates celebrated their win he was still in awe of the Anfield crowd.

"It was incredible,” he told Spanish publication  AS  .

"I shouldn't say it, but when they scored, seeing the stadium and their way of celebrating….

“I had seen this on television, but seeing it live and being within this great atmosphere…. Hardly anyone wins here and we are so happy. ”

Felix provided the assist for Marcos Llorente's first goal.

The former Real Madrid man then scored again before Alvaro Morata sealed it late into extra-time.

Jurgen Klopp confessed after the game that he was a bad loser and struggled to comprehend how his Liverpool side had not progressed.

The German criticised the defensive tactics employed by Diego Simeone given the quality of players at his disposal.

But the Argentine, who has presided over some memorable European nights, claimed his way of playing centred around one thing – winning.
