Manchester United players have joked about who has the best and worst tattoos ahead of the Europa League final.
The Red Devils are aiming to win the trophy for the first time in four years when they take on Villarreal at the Gdansk Arena, Poland.
It would be the first silverware won under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who improved their Premier League position again to finish second behind Manchester City.
The Norwegian has earned praise for bringing the team together as they secured an unbeaten away campaign in the league as well as reaching the European second-tier’s finale.
But interviews shared with UEFA ahead of the Europa League final show that two stand out – for very different reasons – when it comes to tattoos.
Brandon Williams, goalkeeper Dean Henderson, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Eric Bailly were all asked which player has the best body artwork.
All four of them said No.10 Marcus Rashford, who has 12 tattoos across his body which are dedicated to his family and his career ambitions.
The only player to disagree, though, is full-back Alex Telles who says: “Me, of course. Mine are the most beautiful for sure!”
United’s Brazilian defender, who arrived from Porto last summer for £15m to provide competition for Luke Shaw, has a sleeve on his left arm.
Fred also puts himself forward with a laugh – but his team-mates think differently.
Telles said: “I can’t even figure out the drawings.”
But most of the United players believe it is Williams who has the worst body artwork.
Dan James, who has scored five goals in his 25 games this season, said: “I think Brandon and Rashy have got similar tattoos.”
But it was Rashford’s school friend and current No.1 Henderson that landed the killer blow, with: “Brandon Williams, probably because he copied Marcus’ tattoos – they’re just not quite the same.”
