Billy Gilmour misses out on Scotland call-up for Euro 2020 qualifier against Israel as he’s named in Under-21 squad despite brilliant form for Chelsea

  • Billy Gilmour has been called up to Scotland’s U21-squad for March qualifiers
  • It means the Chelsea youngster will likely miss out on a place in the senior side
  • The teenage starlet has been in incredible form for the Blues in the past week

Calls for Billy Gilmour to earn a call-up to the Scotland senior squad have not been heeded after he was selected for their Under-21 contingent on Tuesday morning.

The highly-rated youngster has caught the eye in the past week after shining in midfield for Chelsea.

The 18-year-old has been hailed as ‘incredible’ by Blues boss Frank Lampard but his selection to the national team has been deemed as too soon for the precocious talent.
