"Bullied" Donny van de Beek hooked at half time after dismal Man Utd display

Donny van de Beek was substituted at half-time after being “bullied” in midfield during Manchester United’s clash with West Ham.

United managed to pull off a brilliant comeback to win 3-1 at the London Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Red Devils went in at the break trailing though after Tomas Soucek pinched a close-range opener not long before half time.

A frustrated Ole Gunnar Solskjaer rung the changes for the second period, with Edinson Cavani and Van de Beek taken off for Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes.

The substitutions did the trick as United managed to turn things around in the capital.

Goals from Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood completed the comeback with two goals in three minutes just after the hour mark, before Rashford secured all three points.

But former United man Patrice Evra was not impressed by the first half performance, pinpointing Van de Beek’s showing in particular.

"Same old story,” he told Sky Sports. “Reacting team that's why I think in second half I hope they will react but it's a team that doesn't act.

“Declan Rice is bullying Van de Beek in the midfield. Bowen is terrorising all the defence.

“Sloppy passes, no tempo, they look like they have a nice composure with the ball but it's too much. They need to speed up their game.

"This is not Manchester United. I'm sorry this is not United."
