Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated wildly as he scored a 30-yard free-kick to equalise for Al-Nassr in their clash with Abha on Saturday night with opposing goalkeeper Devis Epassy going crazy for his side conceding the goal. It’s tight at the top of the Saudi Pro League with Al-Nassr trying to keep tabs with Al-Ittihad heading into the final third of the season.

But they were staring down the barrel of an embarrassing defeat to Abha, who are sitting close to the relegation zone. Abdulfattah Adam Ahmad Mohammed had given Abha the lead midway through the first half and Ronaldo’s side were finding it difficult to find a leveller.

That was until the 78th minute when Al-Nassr were awarded a free-kick from long range with Ronaldo stepping up to take it. The Portuguese superstar had made a habit earlier in his career of scoring wonder goals from set-pieces.

But his success rate has decreased over the years with the 38-year-old scoring just one free-kick during his second stint at Manchester United. However, that didn’t affect him for his effort on Saturday against Abha with Ronaldo rifling in his effort from long range before running off to spark wild celebrations.

The three-man wall failed to stick together with Ronaldo’s effort firing through the middle and past Epassy into the back of the net.
