Delighted Liverpool fans mock Karren Brady as Premier League to be completed

Liverpool supporters mocked West Ham Vice-Chairman Karren Brady with her own words after the Premier League announced that the season will be concluded, despite currently being suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe.

Jurgen Klopp's side were head and shoulders above the other 19 teams, building up a mammoth 25-points lead before the Covid-19 outbreak saw the league shut down with nine games to go.

Brady had incurred the wrath of Liverpool fans by writing that 'as games in both the PL and in the EFL are affected, the only fair and reasonable thing to do is declare the whole season null and void.'

But the Premier League released a statement on Thursday saying that all 38 games would be completed in order to decide promotion, relegation and champions of each division – much to the delight of Kopites.

"FA have decided no football will be played until after April 30th – giving themselves May and June to complete fixtures and leagues ….the null and void lads will be quiet tonight!" added another.

"ThEy ShOuLd NuLl AnD vOiD tHe SeAsOn," said a third, poking fun at Brady's claim.

"Great News. I want to see LFC lift the title and have a proper parade. Don't want anyone saying that we didn't win it and were handed it," wrote another jubilant supporter.

"We're still gunna win the league. Even if it eats into the summer," said another Reds fan. "Everyone's health comes first no matter what #LFC

"I can make it to April 30 BECAUSE WE'RE GOING TO WIN THE LEAGUE! WE'RE GOING TO WIN THE LEAGUE!" sang another.

The Premier League clarified the league's extension but tempered it by saying all games must be completed by April 30.

"The FA’s Rules and Regulations state that “the season shall terminate not later than the 1 June” and “each competition shall, within the limit laid down by The FA, determine the length of its own playing season,” it said.

"However, The FA’s Board has agreed for this limit to be extended indefinitely for the 2019/20 season in relation to Professional Football.

"Additionally, we have collectively agreed that the professional game in England will be further postponed until no earlier than 30 April."

Taking to Twitter on Sunday, Brady attempted to clarify her 'null and void' comments, writing: “Everyone agrees that LFC deserve to win the title. PL & EFL are doing all we can to ensure the season is finished.

"Including suspending games, isolating players, and if required playing games behind closed doors and into the summer months.

“My point was safety of fans, players, staff come 1st & if the remaining games just cannot be played the only fair & reasonable thing is to declare season null and void.

"Who knows who would have gone down or come up if the PL/EFL games have not actually been played in full?”
