Gary Lineker has cracked a hilarious joke at his own expense following a blunder by Charlton Athletic’s social media admin.
As well as being famous for his goal scoring exploits and presenting Match of the Day, Lineker is remembered for an infamous incident during the 1990 World Cup.
Lineker was suffering from stomach cramps during England’s match against Ireland at Italia 90 beforethe worst happened.
The striker went in for a slide tackle and 'relaxed', a poor decision which led to the famous line to team-mate Gary Stevens: "I've s*** myself."
Lineker, who was mercifully substituted following his mishap, has done his best to own the embarrassing anecdote through some good humour on social media.
And he continued those efforts on Saturday afternoon after spotting an unfortunate typo from Charlton’s Twitter account.
Providing updates from the Addicks’ Championship game against Wycombe, Charlton’s admin accidentally went viral.
“McCleary sees a s*** deflect wide from the edge of the box,” they wrote in the 49th minute of the match.
Rather than delete the post, which now has 20,000 likes, Charlton decided to make light of it, responding with: “Don't worry, the Addicks' defence cleared it up…”
The club were far from the only account to make a joke of the typo, with Lineker seeing an open goal.
Quote-tweeting the line, Lineker simply wrote: “Brings back memories.”

The player whose shot deflected wide from the edge of the box also got in on the joke.
“Learnt from the best!!!” Wycombe’s Garath McCleary replied to Lineker.
It’s not the first time Lineker has riffed on his stomach trouble from 32 years ago.
In December he made a similar jokeafter a video of a dog emptying its bowels on Partizan Beograd's pitch went viral.
“Always good to see clips of when I played,” he quipped.
