Four Gareth Bale replacements Jose Mourinho could sign for Tottenham this summer

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho could be taking part in conversions with Daniel Levy this summer over a potential replacement for the departing Gareth Bale.

The Wales skipper revealed while on international duty that he has every intention of returning to see out the final year of his deal at Real Madrid, despite falling out of favour in the Spanish capital.

The 31-year-old has not yet thought about extending his Spurs loan for another season or making it permanent, which if nothing else would free up the part of his wages they are paying.

Daily Star Sport have now taken a look at four big names that could be on their way to north London this summer, one of which is said to be keen on a reunion with Mourinho.

Jack Grealish – Aston Villa

Although the love Jack Grealish has for Aston Villa is no secret, he desire to play in the Champions League could see him leave his boyhood club eventually.

Of course Spurs would indeed have to finish in the top four to make that possible, but we’ve often seen sides that are not in Europe at all impress in the Premier League.

However, the comments of Mourinho at the weekend suggest that a move is very unlikely at this stage: “I don’t know what happened in the past.

“I believe that the future, if the future is going to be leaving Villa one day, because maybe he doesn’t. I don’t think it will be with us.”

Paulo Dybala – Juventus

Paulo Dybala has long been linked with a move to the Premier League from Juventus, and he will enter the final year of his contract with the club this summer.

The 27-year-old could find a new challenge following what is turning out to be a poor season in which Juve might miss out on Serie A glory for the first time since 2011.

France Football reported last week that Spurs were ready to ‘reignite’ their interest in the creative midfielder, who could cost in the region of £50m.

Barcelona are said to be ‘actively seeking’ a new club for Philippe Coutinho as his 2018 switch from Liverpool continues to look like an error.

The 28-year-old was not signed on a permanent deal by Bayern Munich in the summer despite showing some of his best form in the Bundesliga, and his current contract runs until 2023.

Mundo Deportivo report that Barcelona are keen to avoid paying Liverpool an extra £17m should he play in another 10 fixtures and take his tally to 100.

    Lucas Vazquez – Real Madrid

The most likely deal on the list could be for Lucas Vazquez, considering Spurs have had a good relationship in agreeing transfers with Real Madrid in the past.

The Mirror reported this week that the versatile winger has rejected a reduction in wages on a new three-year-deal, and that he would love a reunion with Mourinho.

The only issue could be his wages demands on a four-year deal, with Spurs very unlikely to spend in abundance as per the usual workings of Levy.
