Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher picked their best Premier League of 2020 on Monday night, including stars from Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Manchester United and Liverpool legends worked together to form a combined XI of the Premier League’s best, which also featured representatives from Wolves and Manchester City.
It was no surprise that defending champions and league leaders Liverpool were the most represented team.
Six Liverpool stars were named in the team by Neville and Carragher.
Four of those were a part of the back five, with Alisson in goal and Andrew Robertson, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold all making up the defence.
Jordan Henderson was part of a three-man midfield, while Mohamed Salah was in the attack.
Wolves and England defender Conor Coady, a Liverpool fan, joined the Reds-focused defence after a stellar year at the heart of defence for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
In midfield, Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne – who Carragher hailed as the league’s ‘best player’ – joined Henderson and Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes.
There was no place for Salah’s fellow Liverpool winger Sadio Mane, with Son Heung-Min favoured in the left wing slot.
In the striking position, Son’s team-mate Harry Kane was given the nod.
