Gary Neville snubs Ronaldo and Fernandes when asked favourite Man Utd star

Gary Neville has snubbed both Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo when the Red Devils legend was asked to name his current favourite Manchester United player.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has assembled a star-studded squad in the red half of Manchester.

However, Neville, when asked on Twitter for his favourite player from Solskjaer's current crop, opted for United's academy graduate Mason Greenwood.

Neville had been hosting a Twitter Q&A when he responded to the question: "Greenwood by a long way!"

And the United legend hasn't been reserved about his praise for the young goalscorer in the past, often tipping Greenwood for big things in the near future.

Neville surprisingly petitioned for Greenwood to be included in Gareth Southgate's final 23 man squad for Euro 2020.

"If England need a goal, I would bring Greenwood on," Neville explained over the summer.

"He's naturally a better finisher than Marcus Rashford and Raheem Sterling, even though he doesn't have the goals of Sterling, and he's got that quality in tight spaces in and around the box.

“I don't think there's a natural replacement for [Harry] Kane, but I think Greenwood's the only one who can really finish.”

The 19-year-old has found the net three times for United so far this season in six appearances.

But those three goals came in the first three matchdays, and he hasn't struck the back of the net since his winner against Wolves.

Greenwood was named as United's player of the month for August.

Solskjaer proved his trust in Greenwood when he sent the Englishman on to try and rescue the Carabao Cup tie against West Ham.
