Harry Kane has been left out of Tottenham's squad to take on Manchester City in their Premier League opening game.
The Athletic have reported that it is due to the forward 'not being fit enough' for the clash against the champions.
It comes as the Spurs captain has been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium throughout the summer, having expressed a desire to leave north London.
And Kane caused furious speculation when he missed training at Tottenham at the beginning of the month.
An exit would bring the forward's 17-year stay at Spurs, having arrived in the academy at 11 years old.
But he has not featured at all for his club during their pre-season preparations.
Having scored 33 goals last season but failed to win a trophy, the 28-year-old put in a request to the north London side in May to leave.
