Arsenal legend Ian Wright has revealed that the one position that he thinks Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be desperate to strengthen before the transfer window closes.
The Red Devils revealed the official signing of Raphael Varane at Old Trafford last Saturday, joining the club from Real Madrid for £41million.
The French centre-back walked around the pitch showing off his new no.19 shirt whilst being applauded by the United faithful, though he wasn’t able to be involved in the 5-1 thrashing of Leeds United that afternoon.
The ‘Jadon Sancho saga’ also ended at the end of July as the England winger signed a five-year contract at United, with Borussia Dortmund receiving £73m for his services.
But England hero Wright has revealed that there is one more position that he believes Solskjaer will want to improve upon so that his side can be competitive this season.
Speaking on The Kelly & Wrighty show, the 57-year-old said: “I feel that they’re slowly just sorting all their problems. That holding midfielder at some stage, I’m sure that they’re going to get that person.”
Against Leeds, United played with a two-man midfield of Scott McTominay and Fred, sitting behind hat-trick hero Bruno Fernandes, but Wright isn’t convinced that the pair are capable of winning titles.

Paul Pogba, who registered four assists last week, has been used in one of those positions previously but is currently finding his form out on the left-wing.
When Marcus Rashford returns from his absence, due to his long-awaited shoulder surgery, then we may well see Pogba drop deeper so that the winger can slot into his favoured position.
One name who has been linked with a move to The Theatre of Dreams is Eduardo Camavinga of Rennes.

The midfielder is just 18-years-old and has already played 85 games for his current club, which has obviously perked the interest of numerous top clubs.
According to the Daily Mail, Solskjaer is keen to add Camavinga to his ranks but their interest may have been stumped due to the France international wanting to move to a La Liga club.
There are under two weeks left of the transfer window so it is becoming increasingly unlikely that a club will lose a top-quality midfielder with such little time to replace them, but United may return to their shopping list in January.
