Jadon Sancho issues apology for breaking Covid-19 protocol at party

Jadon Sancho has issued an apology after breaking Covid-19 protocol at a party.

The England international, who broke coronavirus restrictions alongside Tammy Abraham and Ben Chilwell at a surprise party thrown for the Chelsea forward, took to Instagram on Monday to post the following message.

"I would like to apologise for breaking the government guidelines, and although I was unaware upon arriving of the numbers attending, I take full responsibility for my actions," wrote Sancho. "I will make sure moving forward that I learn from this."

The trio were all due to meet up with the England squad at Saint George's Park on Monday.

The Three Lions have fixtures against Wales, Belgium and Denmark on the horizon.

But the FA has delayed the trio's arrival "as a precaution to understand if there is any risk to the wider group," and "to allow time to gather further information of a social gathering that all three reportedly attended".

The Sun has reported that around 20 people attended the party at Abraham's house.

Currently, new government rules stipulate that no more than six people can meet up as part of the ongoing battle against the coronavirus pandemic.

Abraham issued an apology in The Sun.

He said: "I arrived home to find a small surprise gathering.

"Though I was totally unaware this was planned, I would like to wholeheartedly apologise for the naivety shown for the organisation and attending of this gathering."
