Jose Mourinho used ‘epic fail’ video to inspire his players during losing streak

Chelsea flop Jiri Jarosik has revealed ex-Blues boss Jose Mourinho once inspired the players with an "epic fail" compilation as the side struggled.

The Czech midfielder only spent six months at Stamford Bridge in 2005 – but working under Mourinho has stuck with him. Speaking to Planet Football, Jarosik lifted the lid on a unique approach the legendary boss used to get them out of a losing streak.

He said: "He’s absolutely brilliant at motivating his players. Jose loves being in the spotlight, and it might be good for players because he handles all the pressure and attention, so they can just concentrate on football.

"Sometimes, Jose might surprise you. I remember us losing two games in a row and everyone worrying that he would absolutely destroy us.

“But instead, he turned on his laptop, found a couple of funny videos featuring fat footballers or some epic football fails and showed it to us. Everybody laughed and that was that. He didn’t say anything, we just went to training."

The star made 14 appearances for the Blues during the run-in – and he claimed a Premier League winners medal.

However, that summer, seven months after putting pen-to-paper with Chelsea, he was shipped out on loan to Birmingham City. After returning to London, Jarosik was promptly sold to Celtic.

Alongside his Premier League winners medal, Jarosik also lifted the League Cup during his spell in west London.
