Kieran Trippier gives Arsenal fans exciting verdict on Thomas Partey transfer

Kieran Trippier has given Arsenal fans an exciting verdict on Thomas Partey as he leaves Atletico Madrid for the Premier League.

The ex- Tottenham star had been his team-mate at the Wanda Metropolitano and was speaking prior to his move to the Gunners.

It was a remarkable turnaround on deadline day after some rapid work saw the Ghana international sign for Arsenal.

He had been Mikel Arteta's top transfer target all summer but little progress had been made until the last 24 hours.

The Emirates outfit forked out £52.5m for the midfielder, which includes his £45m release clause at Atletico.

Partey has penned a four-year contract worth £220,000 – with an option for another season.

And Trippier has told Arsenal fans they have got one hell of a player.

"I'd seen him play for Atletico but I didn't realise how good he is," stated the Atletico right-back when speaking on The Beautiful Game podcast in June.

"He's unbelievable, his physicality, how he breaks up play. Technically he's got everything.

"He ranks as one of the best midfielders I've played with, but Mousa [Dembele] is Mousa and he's on a different planet that guy. Even in training he was in cruise control.

"Thomas is still a very young player and everyone loves him out here.

"Going to the Premier League who knows? Obviously I want him to stay here because he's a valuable member to our team.

"He speaks perfect English, very good English. I don't think he'd have a problem with the Premier League."

When pressed on whether or not Partey was getting the latest news on the Premier League from him, Trippier added: "Not really.

"Obviously everyone watches the Premier League.

"He just asks what's it like, the style of play, but a few players have. It doesn't mean they are leaving by the way!

"It's just about certain players who play in the league, what it's like and I just say. The Premier League is the Premier League and is one of the best leagues in the world.

"Thomas will fit in perfectly in the Premier League."
