Jurgen Klopp is not signing a new goalkeeper before Friday’s domestic transfer deadline and will stick with Adrian for Saturday’s Merseyside derby.
Adrian’s position as the injured Alisson’s understudy had been questioned because he was at fault for the first goal in Liverpool ’s chastening 7-2 destruction by Aston Villa.
Alisson could be sidelined with his shoulder injury for another five weeks and Klopp has the option of signing a goalkeeper from the EFL before Friday’s final transfer window closes.
Klopp has been urged by former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson to sign Jack Butland, who is available from Stoke.
Sunday Mirror Sport reported negotiations over a potential deal had taken place between the two clubs' top brass – while it's been reported Stoke would want a £5million transfer fee.
But it is understood Klopp is happy with his complement of goalkeepers and has no plans to sign anyone else.
The Liverpool boss feels Adrian was not to blame for the Reds’ dire display at Villa Park when so many players were below par.
He has been pleased with the Spaniard’s performances since signing him on a free 14 months ago and Liverpool won the 11 Premier League games he played before the Villa debacle.
That run includes the 5-2 win over Everton at Anfield in December, while the experienced Adrian was also in goal for the rookie Reds’ FA Cup victory over the Blues a month later.

Klopp’s decision leaves Butland in limbo and Stoke would like to move the former England goalkeeper out before Friday.
Butland has lost the No.1 position at Stoke to Adam Davies, who has kept six clean sheets in his eight appearances this season, and he conceded five at Leeds on his last appearance in July.
The former Birmingham stopper is one of the club’s top earners on a reported £35,000-a-week and the Potters would like to get him off their wage bill.
Butland, 27, has entered the eight months of his contract and Stoke want to agree his permanent transfer rather than a loan.
