Leeds were initially considering spending a limited amount this window and had flirted with the prospect of loans but, with injuries mounting, they made Aaronson their number one target for this month as he ticked the boxes on their ideal profile.
His high intensity running statistics are among the best in Europe and Celtic made an approach for him last year.

Having been born in Medford, New Jersey, he was handed the nickname the ‘Medford Messi’ in tribute to his attacking style and has gone in to earn 15 caps for the USA scoring five goals.
His form with Salzburg and fast growing reputation have also attracted attention from Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund but a move to Leeds appeals.
Aaronson played 45 minutes in a friendly on Tuesday as Red Bull beat SV Reid 3-1. His style and energy would be an ideal fit for Leeds and they will be hoping the player’s desire to play in England can play a part in persuading his club to deal now.
