Juventus outcast Adrien Rabiot has been linked with a move to Liverpool for some time, but it's clear the player's mother wants the midfielder to return to Paris Saint Germain.

That's according to The Sun, who claim Rabiot's mother, Veronique, is trying to secure a PSG return for her son. Rabiot joined Juventus on a free transfer from PSG back in 2019, but has since seen his game time limited.

And after being left out of their pre-season tour to the United States, many have speculated his future could be away from Turin this summer. Liverpool remain linked with the Frenchman, but Rabiot's mother only wants PSG.

Despite Juventus stating that Rabiot's pre-season absence was for "personal reasons", many believe it's actually due to doubts over his future, alerted some of Europe's top sides. Liverpool have been a long-term admirer of Rabiot, and due to injuries Jurgen Klopp is waiting to see whether he should send out young midfielder Tyler Morton on loan.

Liverpool have been pursuing a deal for Jude Bellingham, but it looks as though a deal may be on the cards for next summer after the midfielder confirmed he would be staying at Borussia Dortmund for next season. The Reds are still yet to sign a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, but Klopp is utilising his youthful options for now.

PSG on the other hand, they're keen to let Wijnaldum leave after a woeful start to his career in Ligue 1. The Dutchman joined from Liverpool last summer, but was voted 'flop of the season' but French outlet GFFN.

Roma have been linked with signing Wijnaldum, which could open the door for PSG to sign Rabiot, granting his mother's wish. Lyon had initially expressed interest in signing the Frenchman, but Rabiot reportedly stated that he's holding out for a more "prestigious" club.

PSG certainly ticks that box, and it could force Wijnaldum out the door at the Parc des Princes. And unlike the Dutchman, Rabiot has a proven track record with the French champions.

Over seven seasons, Rabiot made 227 appearances and scored 24 goals before leaving the club for Juventus. Rabiot has since been training with the U23 side while the first team tour America, and a move is expected before the end of the window.
