Liverpool could face serious competition for Raphinha following reports that Bayern Munich have joined the race for the Leeds United star. The Reds have long been linked with a move for Raphinha but it appears they are not the only club eyeing up the Brazilian winger.
Raphinha has been enjoying a productive season for Leeds, having netted eight times in 16 league appearances for the Whites to already top his total of six in 30 games in 2020/21.
His form comes in spite of Leeds’ struggles in the Premier League this season, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side currently in 16th place, having won just three of their 18 games so far.
The 25-year-old has therefore been linked with a move away from Elland Road, with Liverpool the most frequently cited destination.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Raphinha is being assessed by the club’s recruitment department, alongside West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen.

However, their pursuit won’t be straightforward because Chelsea and Bayern Munich are both also keeping tabs on him.
The Sun reports that Bayern are stepping up their interest in Raphinha and are ready to test Leeds’ resolve with a bid in January.
Leeds are desperate to keep hold of him and have slapped a £60million price tag on the player they paid Rennes around £20m for in October 2020.

Bayern’s reported interest follows claims from Sport Italia that Chelsea could also join the queue for the Brazilian star.
The Blues’ interest comes alongside rumours over the futures of attackers Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech ahead of the January window opening in the New Year.
Liverpool are targeting reinforcements in attack in 2022, although the Echo states that they will almost certainly wait until the end of the season to move.
That is despite the fact that they will lose Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah for much of January due to the African Cup of Nations.
Liverpool have had success by signing the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Philippe Coutinho, Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge in the mid-season window.
But they are believed to be content with the options available to Jurgen Klopp at present and will wait until the summer to bolster their squad.
Whether they attempt to sign Raphinha or not, it appears likely that the Brazil international will be on the move in 2022.
While he is under contract with Leeds until June 2025, the club may struggle to continue to fend off interest from more established top-flight clubs, while the allure of Champions League football could work against them.
