Liverpool are in contact with the agent of PSV and Netherlands striker Donyell Malen, according to reports. The striker has been on a number of clubs’ hit lists this summer after an impressive domestic season was followed by exciting performances at Euro 2020.
Malen left Arsenal as a youth product in 2017, heading to the Eredivisie in search of regular first-team minutes.
After a fairly slow start, the Dutchman developed into a prolific scorer, netting 27 goals in all competitions last term.
The 22-year-old followed that up with two assists at Euro 2020 on Netherlands’ run to the round of 16.
The youngster is a client of super-agent Mino Raiola, who could be in line for a momentous summer himself if his one of his other clients, Erling Haaland, secures a big-money move.

Reports from the Liverpool Echo indicate that the Reds’ sporting director, Michael Edwards, has been in touch with Raiola about the player’s availability.
Malen would hypothetically join an already-crowded attacking contingent at Anfield including Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota and Divock Origi.
At least one of those players is believed to be in line for a move away this summer, although the Dutchman may still have a tough time squeezing past Jurgen Klopp’s famed front-three.
Mane did endure a slightly disappointing campaign last time out, however, notching his second-worst goals tally since joining the club.

Diogo Jota also managed to work his way into the side after a sensational goal-scoring spell.
With this in mind, it would be possible for Malen to work his way up to being a crucial part of the Reds’ attack, although he does reportedly have less risky options on the table.
Borussia Dortmund are also thought to be keen on the PSV man, with plenty of space for him thanks to the impending departure of Jadon Sancho to Manchester United.
He certainly fits the BVB mould of a youngster who is available for a reasonable price, with the potential to blossom into a top-class forward.
At face value, the Bundesliga side could offer more guarantees to Malen in terms of game time, although the opportunity to work with Jurgen Klopp is not one which is often turned down.
With £30million rumoured to be enough to get the player to the negotiating table, the 22-year-old is widely expected to be on the move this summer.
The Reds could well be positioning themselves to swoop in the coming weeks.
