Cardiff City have won the race to sign Liverpool winger Harry Wilson on loan, and will secure the season-long agreement before Friday’s deadline.
Liverpool had been looking to sell Wilson this summer though had failed to find suitors willing to meet their initial £20million valuation for the Welshman.
Now Cardiff have swooped in with a late loan offer which will be concluded before the deadline and see Wilson spend the campaign in Wales, as report the Athletic.

Earlier in the transfer window Liverpool rejected the attempts of Burnley to sign the 23-year-old after Sean Dyche’s side would not provide a £15m upfront payment.
Cardiff have beaten their bitter south wales rivals Swansea to Wilson’s signature, while Nottingham Forest were also in the running for his services.

It is reported that Cardiff made the strongest case to Wilson, who has been guaranteed first-team football as a regular starter and is keen to provide the firepower for Cardiff’s promotion tilt.
Last season, on loan with Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth, Wilson made 31 Premier League appearances scoring seven goals along the way.
During his last stint in the Championship with Derby County, Wilson racked up 40 appearances with 15 goals and three assists, and was an influential factor behind Frank Lampard’s side reaching the play-off final at Wembley.
It is understood that Liverpool are hoping for further development to come from Wilson this season, before looking to orchestrate a transfer away from Anfield later down the line.

The deal comes as the Reds are also set to sanction the exit of another youngster with Herbie Kane in talks with Barnsley.
Defender Nat Phillips is also reported to be up for transfer and could leave Anfield permanently before Friday’s deadline passes.
