Rafa Benitez has revealed that no less than four Everton players will be unavailable for Saturday’s meeting with Manchester United at Old Trafford. The Toffees will go in search of their fifth win of the new Premier League season against United, who will be buoyed by their dramatic victory over Villarreal in midweek.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s last-gasp winner deep into stoppage time rescued all three points in the Champions League for the Red Devils, who were fortunate to come away with the result.
They will be hoping to maintain their Premier League title challenge with another victory over Everton in front of a vocal home crowd on Saturday afternoon.
United are currently on the same number of points as their upcoming opponents but sit higher in the table on goal difference.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were beaten in their last domestic outing by Aston Villa and a return to winning ways against Everton, who have looked strong under Benitez thus far, will provide a huge early boost to their title ambitions.
The Red Devils will go into the match as favourites but have already been helped by a flurry of injuries in the Everton dressing room.

Benitez revealed in Friday’s press conference that Seamus Coleman, Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin will all remain sidelined for the trip to Old Trafford.
Coleman and Calvert-Lewin returned to individual training this week but will not be ready to face United, while Richarlison is still recovering after missing Everton’s last two Premier League outings.
Former Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi is also doubtful with a slight problem but could be named in the matchday squad if he is passed fit before kick-off.
It remains to be seen whether United will be able to take advantage of Everton’s injury crisis by claiming all three points on Saturday.
The Red Devils will be playing their second match in four days after beating Villarreal on Wednesday and Solskjaer has declared that he is far from happy about the situation.
“No explanation, it is TV,” the United boss told reporters.
“No common sense at all, we had same scenario last year when we played in Turkey and then Everton.
“We have to make it happen. It is not like we did it last year so it is going to happen again.

“Us and Chelsea played Wednesday and Liverpool vs Chelsea should have been the Saturday one. Common sense isn’t so common.”
Solskjaer also revealed that Luke Shaw will miss Saturday’s match as he continues his recovery from a shoulder injury, while Harry Maguire and Amad have also been ruled out.
Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford has returned to training after undergoing surgery on a long-term shoulder problem last month, but will not be ready to feature against Everton.
