Manchester United would be able to sign Eduardo Camavinga for as little as £45million, according to reports. The France international is wanted by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having sparkled in Ligue 1 over the past 18 months for the most part. But there’s a problem, with Real Madrid, Juventus and PSG also keen to land the youngster.
United have turned their attention to signing young gems ever since Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho as manager back in December 2018.
The Red Devils landed Facundo Pellistri and Amad Traore during the summer transfer window, believing the pair to be two of the hottest prospects in Europe.
United also signed Alvaro Fernandez Marc Jurado and Isak Hansen-Aaoren as they look to build solid foundations for the future.
Now, they want Camavinga. The Rennes star is one of Europe’s best young midfielders and, according to AS, will now be on the market for cheaper than before.
Rennes initially wanted a fee in the region of £70m for the 18-year-old but, with the teenager struggling somewhat this term, they’ve now slashed his asking price to £45m.
The problem for United, though, is they’re not alone in wanting Camavinga.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is a huge admirer of his compatriot, believing he’s got all the attributes to be a Bernabeu hit for many years to come.
PSG are also in the picture as Thomas Tuchel eyes more creativity in the middle of the park.
And Juventus are tracking Camavinga as well, with the Old Lady likely to overhaul their squad when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
Where the playmaker ends up remains to be seen but he’s certainly in demand, with super-agents Jorge Mendes, Mino Raiola and Pini Zahavi all interested in having him as a client.
Camavinga recently insisted he was in no rush to leave Rennes, saying: “The great clubs make me dream, but I cannot name one in particular for my future.

“We’ll see [about a new deal at Rennes].
“We haven’t set a date to discuss my future, I’m in no rush about it.
“There will be negotiations to keep me here.
“It would be a pleasure for me to continue at Rennes.
“I still have two years left on my contract and we have enough time to talk about it.”
Premier League done deals: Every confirmed transfer in the summer window
Former Chelsea goalkeeper Rob Green recently criticised Camavinga during the Blues’ win over the Ligue 1 side, claiming the teenager takes too many touches.
“Eduardo Camavinga is neat and tidy on the ball but he takes a lot of touches in the midfield,” Green said on BBC Radio 5 Live.
“Which is fine when it’s around the opponents box but when it’s around your own area you need to just get it and move it on.
“You’re not moving the opposition if you’re taking a lot of touches.
“Compare that to Steven Nzonzi who’s next to him who just gets it and gives it.”
